Officers of the Chino Police Department are looking for a suspect who has attempted to break into eight homes over the last five weeks. The latest incident took place last night, June 25th, at approximately 11:00 p.m. The suspect ran away when the resident heard noise coming from the bedroom and went to investigate. Upon entering the room, the victim noticed someone had attempted to remove the screen; her purse was visible through the window.
Of the eight reported incidents, the suspect has gained access to five homes and has stolen the victim’s purse or cash, which were visible through the windows. In two of those incidents, the victims encountered the suspect, who became violent and attacked the women before fleeing the house with their purse or cash.
All of these incidents have occurred between 8:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m.
The suspect is described as black or Hispanic male, between the ages of 18 and 30, approximately 5’ 8” to 5’ 10,” and weighing approximately 160 to 180 pounds. Police have provided this composite sketch of the suspect.
Due to the suspect’s propensity for violence, do not attempt to approach or confront the suspect. Contact the Chino Police Department immediately.
It is unknown if these incidents are all related, but Officers are asking residents to be aware, to report suspicious activity by calling 9-1-1, and to safeguard their homes by keeping valuables out of sight and securing doors and windows.
