The Riverside Police Department is reporting that Arlington Avenue will be closed at Riverside’s west city limits until at least noon today, Saturday, June 9th, during the investigation of a fatal DUI collision that happened at around 2:00 a.m.

The street closure is near Fairhaven Drive and Crestlawn Cemetery.

Drivers are advised to use the 91 freeway to La Sierra Avenue as an alternate route.

The driver, whose identity has not been released, was said to be traveling at a high rate of speed, lost control of the SUV, causing it to roll and ejecting the passenger.

The passenger, identified as Jonathan Cuevas, 20, of Riverside, reportedly was not wearing a seatbelt, and died from his injuries.
