Wine country Wiener Fest in Temecula for doxie rescue

The Temecula Valley Dachshund Club presents the 3rd annual Wine Country Wiener Fest on Sunday, May 6 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Mount Palomar Winery in Temecula.

Family friendly games, exhibits, silent auction, raffles, door prizes, food and beverages — including wine tasting for the adults.

The featured event of the afternoon is “Dexter’s Derby” Dachshund Race at 1:00 p.m. with preliminary heats, and the final race and grand championships starting at 3:00 p.m.

“Dexter’s Derby” will also include a Kentucky Derby-style extravagant hat contest, so wear your best finery.

Mount Palomar Winery is located at 33820 Rancho California Road in Temecula, approximately 5 miles east of Interstate 15.

This family event is a doxie rescue fundraiser to benefit Almost Home Dachshund Rescue Society, Temecula Valley Dachshund Club, and Sunny Oasis Rescue.
