News headline from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department:
At around 3:30 p.m. on May 23rd, deputies from the Hesperia Police Station received information of a possible plot of conspiracy to commit murder. According to the reporting witness, a 14-year-old male juvenile had weapons and written plans to assassinate a former classmate.
After interviewing the witness, deputies discovered the 14-year-old suspect lives in Phelan and immediately contacted the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station. Through further investigation, detectives learned the juvenile suspect was upset over a bicycle he felt his former classmate had stolen from him. The suspect solicited two other juveniles to help him murder the victim, but they refused.
Deputies made contact with the juvenile at his residence and located evidence consistent with the information they received. The juvenile was taken into custody and was booked at the High Desert Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center in Apple Valley.
The victim and his family were contacted and made aware of the threat against the juvenile’s life. The victim is home safe with his family.
