San Jacinto home intruder runs off after woman wakes up and startles him

News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

A San Jacinto woman awakened to an intruder in her bedroom, who was startled and then fled the home.  The suspect is still at large.

At around 12:30 a.m. on May 29th, officers from the San Jacinto Police Department responded to a residential burglary that occurred in the 1800 block of Cape Horse Drive in San Jacinto.

The investigation revealed that the homeowner was awakened from her sleep and encountered a subject inside her bedroom.  The suspect realized the victim was awake and ran from the residence.  The victim was not injured and it is unknown at this time if any property was taken during the incident.

A search of the surrounding area was conducted, but no suspects were found.

The suspect was described as a black male adult, 5′10″ in height, weighing 190-200 lbs., wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a dark-colored bandana covering his face.
