Robert Cantu passed away peacefully at his home in Upland, California on May 17, 2012. He was born in Trinidad, Colorado on September 17, 1930.
He served his country proudly for 21 years in the military. He was a talented artist and was an avid reader. He enjoyed his adventures in traveling around the world. Bob was a loving and giving man with a big heart.
His great sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him. New Options Funeral Services of Placentia, California are handling the funeral arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Lois; sons Robert (Christine), Richard (Anita), Max (Gail), Rodney, Randy; three stepchildren, Daniel, who preceded him in death (Darlene), Kevin (Michele) and Lisa Durfee; grandchildren Erik, Rachel, Matthew, Richard, Deanna, Addy and Jean Durfee; three great-grandchildren Emma, Camryn, Luke; sister Carol Rose of Livermore, California, many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his older brother, Mark Romero of Denver, Colorado.
Viewing and Rosary will be Tuesday, May 29th from 6pm to 8:30pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Upland. Mass will be on Wednesday, May 30th at 10am also at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will immediately follow the mass at Riverside National Cemetery.
