Police looking for suspects in string of air conditioner thefts in Chino

News headline from the Chino Police Department:

Over the last several weeks, the Chino Police Department has received 13 reports of stolen air conditioning units.  In most cases, the units have been taken from commercial strip malls, but a bank, school, and four churches have also fallen victim to this crime.

Both ground level and roof top units have been stolen, and detectives suspect they are being sold for scrap.

It is unknown if these incidents are related, or if the units are being disassembled prior to removal.

The investigation is ongoing.  Anyone with information regarding these crimes is asked to contact the Chino Police Department at 909-628-1234.
