The 2012-05-07-bwy-saigon-thumb.jpgBroadway sensation, Miss Saigon, is coming to the Fox Performing Arts Center in downtown Riverside for three shows this weekend, May 11th and 12th.

Miss Saigon is a classic love story, a moving testament to the human spirit reflecting on the turmoil of the Vietnam War when an American Soldier and a Vietnamese girl fall in love, only to be separated during the fall of Saigon.

Similarly told in the Puccini opera Madame Butterfly — the tragic tale of a doomed romance of an Asian woman abandoned by her lover, an American soldier, the story is brought up-to-date in one of the most stunning theatrical spectacles of all time.

Miss Saigon was written by the creators of one of the longest running shows in Broadway history, Les Miserables, by Claude-Michel Schoenberg and Alain Boubil, with lyrics by Boublil and Richard Maltby Jr.

The Friday and Saturday evening shows start at 8:00 p.m., and the Saturday matinee starts at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets are currently on sale at the Fox Performing Arts Center Box Office at 3801 Mission Inn Avenue; or online through Ticketmaster.

For more information, contact the box office at 951-779-9800.
