The Marchfield Airfest open house and air show is this weekend, May 19th & 20th, at March Air Reserve Base in Moreno Valley.
The show runs from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. both days.
Military planes will be on display and air demos are scheduled throughout the day, starting with a jet fly-by and parachute team at 10:00 a.m. and culminating with a spectacular precision performance by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds at 3:15 p.m.
Other scheduled performances include the T-34 “Missing Man” Formation, F-86 demo, KC-135 re-fueler fly-by, Patriot Jet Team demo, Robosaurus demo, AV-8 Marine Harrier demo, U.S. Navy F-18 Hornet Air demo, Smoke-N-Thunder Jet Car, and many more.
Free parking and free admission.
There will be a mandatory metal detection and bag search.
No coolers, pets, bicycles, glass containers, alcoholic beverages, E-Z ups, skateboards, or roller blades.
Suggestions for comfort: Folding chair, blanket and sunscreen.
It should be noted that although the air performances are visible from the 215 freeway in Moreno Valley, CHP has posted signs that stopping alongside the freeway shoulder is not allowed.
