News headline from the Redlands Police Department:
Redlands Firefighters and Paramedics responded to a multi-car collision on westbound Interstate 10 at Orange Street that resulted in minor to moderate injuries to six people Sunday morning.
Firefighters received the call of the three-vehicle collision shortly after 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 20th.
When they arrived they found victims trapped in one car on the freeway and another car that had plummeted 30 feet over the side of the freeway. It took firefighters approximately 15 minutes to free two of the victims using the Jaws of Life.
Traffic on the freeway was backed up for several miles while firefighters attended to the victims and the CHP shut down three of the four westbound lanes.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
