Announcement from the City of Riverside:
The Riverside Neighborhood Conference is on Saturday, June 2, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on the Main Street mall in downtown Riverside.
The event celebrates Riverside’s neighborhoods and aims to network residents with each other and with resources for community improvement and to maintain and improve neighborhood quality of life.
Now more than ever residents, government, and non-profits must work together. Collaboration on community problem-solving and the maintenance of our quality of life is key. And Riversiders are good at that.
The day’s festivities will include informational workshops, children’s activities, and interactive booths with over 60 exhibitors from city departments, non-profits and other agencies are there to provide information about what part they can play in making your neighborhood the best it can be.
This event is also an opportunity to meet neighborhood leaders in town, as well as city staff who will share with them how they can transform their neighborhood from a collection of houses and businesses to a caring and proactive community.
Workshops will include City Hall 101, Principles of Integrated Pest Management in Your Home, Healthy Communities and Local Food and Let’s Seize Our Destiny - Riversiders Determining Our Future Together.
Other workshops include instruction on how to organize a neighborhood association or block club, neighborhood communication, and what tools and programs are available to you and your neighbors.
