Video surveillance helps police catch burglary suspect in San Jacinto area

News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

On May 6th, deputies from the San Jacinto Police Department responded to the 800 block of Yorkshire Lane regarding a reported vehicle burglary and theft of credit cards.

The victim’s access card was used at several local businesses in a matter of hours to obtain hundreds of dollars in merchandise.

Deputies obtained video surveillance footage of the subject as he used the stolen access card.  After reviewing the footage, deputies recognized the subject as Daniel Briggs, 29, of San Jacinto.  He was located soon after.

Briggs was arrested for fraudulently using an access card, burglary and receiving stolen property.  He was booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
