Collision with minivan is fatal for motorcyclist in Victorville

News headline from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department:

A motorcyclist was killed in the early hours on Monday as an oncoming minivan turned left in front of him in Victorville.

At around 5:00 a.m. on May 7th, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a traffic collision that had occurred at the intersection of D Street and Second Street in Victorville.

Upon arrival, deputies were advised that a man identified as Casey Hunter, 32, of Adelanto, was driving a 2003 Ford Windstar east on D Street.  Hunter stopped to turn left to go north on Second Street.  Hunter turned in front of the 2005 Harley Ultra Classic, being driven west on D Street by Michael Johnson, 47, of Apple Valley.  Johnson was unable to avoid the collision and he collided with Hunter’s vehicle.

Johnson was pronounced deceased on scene.

This is an ongoing investigation by the Victorville Sheriff’s Station Major Accident Investigation Team.  Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Deputy K. Riberich at  760-241-1841.
