News headline from the Redlands Police Department:
Redlands Police arrested two burglary suspects and recovered property, including more than 60 sets of stolen Angels baseball tickets, following a residential break-in last week.
The season tickets were stolen on April 30, along with jewelry and guitars from a home in the 1400 block of Mills Avenue.
This week, the victim searched website Craigslist.com and found tickets listed for sale that were located in the same general area as the stolen set. Redlands investigators contacted the seller and arranged a meeting to buy the tickets on Wednesday, May 2.
At about 3:00 p.m. Matthew Larry Tappen, 18, of Redlands, met with undercover officers in the parking lot of the Krikorian Theater in downtown Redlands. Tappen was arrested after he offered the stolen tickets for sale.
Investigators conducted further follow-up and identified a second suspect, Kevin Michael Gallion, 19.
Detectives located Gallion standing in front of a house in the 1100 block of 38th Street in San Bernardino. He was holding approximately 60 sets of stolen baseball tickets when police contacted him. Detectives searched Gallion’s vehicle and several other locations in Redlands and San Bernardino and recovered all of the property taken in the April 30 burglary.
Tappen and Gallion were arrested on charges of burglary and possession of stolen property.
