News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:
At around 5:45 p.m. on May 9th, officers from the Wildomar Police Department were dispatched to a solo-car traffic collision at Citrus Hill Road and The Farm Road in Wildomar.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they located the driver, identified as Diana Ruth Newcomb, 52, of Wildomar, unconscious in the vehicle. Also in the vehicle were a female passenger and her 14-month-old infant. The infant sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for precautionary measures. Newcomb was also transported to a nearby hospital for her non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation revealed a white Toyota Camry being driven by Newcomb was westbound on Citrus Hill Road. Newcomb ran off the road and hit a block wall, causing major damage to the Toyota.
It is believed that alcohol consumption is a factor in this collision.
