Street gang member arrested in Jurupa Valley with stolen property, drugs, and loaded gun

News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

At about 4:00 p.m. on April 24th, deputies from the city of Jurupa Valley’s Special Enforcement Team attempted to contact Charles Goyette, 33, of Jurupa Valley, a documented criminal street gang member, who was walking in the area of Mission Boulevard and Wallace Street in Jurupa Valley.

Goyette immediately fled on foot and the deputies gave chase.  While deputies pursued Goyette, he removed a loaded firearm from his waistband and discarded it into a vacant dirt lot.

After a short foot pursuit, Goyette was arrested without further incident.  The firearm was recovered and no injuries were sustained as a result of this incident.

After Goyette was taken into custody, deputies found him in possession of stolen property that was taken during a vehicle burglary which occurred earlier in the morning.

Goyette was transported to the Robert Presley Detention Center and booked for being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, under the influence of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of stolen property, and committing a felony as a criminal street gang member.
