Announcement from the City of Riverside:
A Proclamation was presented to Riverside Public Safety Dispatchers at the City Council Meeting on April 10th to recognize the hard work these employees perform on a daily basis.
National Telecommunicator’s Week is April 8th through April 14th.
Since 1992, the second week of April has been used to celebrate Dispatchers and give them the recognition they deserve. Police Officers and Firefighters often receive accolades while Dispatchers are in the background.
This week is a time to remember that Dispatchers are the first line of communication between the public and emergency response. Dispatchers work tirelessly to tend to the needs of the community by being good listeners, problem solvers, communicators, and multi-taskers.
To reward these unsung heroes, the Riverside Police and Fire Departments, the Riverside Police Officers Association, the Riverside Police Administrator’s Association, Riverside City Fire Association, Riverside City Code Enforcement, and several other private parties have made donations to provide special recognition and events this week.
Join the City in celebrating the work of Public Safety Dispatchers in Riverside and all over the Nation by taking a moment to recognize the importance of what they do every day.
