Rear-end collision with two cars caused by suspected DUI driver in Palm Desert

News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

In the early morning hours on Saturday, a woman suspected of driving drunk rear-ended a car stopped for a red light, pushing that car into another car.

Palm Desert Police Department responded to a reported traffic collision with minor injury at the intersection of Highway 111 and Hospitality Lane at about 2:00 a.m. on April 21st.

Iris Coleen Eaton-Howe was eastbound on Highway 111 when she collided with a vehicle stopped for a red traffic signal.  The impact caused the stopped vehicle to collide with another stopped vehicle.

Eaton-Howe was arrested for suspicion of driving while impaired with alcohol.  She was not injured.  A passenger in one of the other vehicles complained of pain but did not seek medical treatment.
