Jaywalking turns into burglary charge for Redlands man

News headline from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department:

At around 11:00 a.m. on April 29th, a Highland Deputy observed a man, later identified as Daniel Falcon, jaywalking on Baseline Street near Boulder Avenue.

When the deputy contacted Falcon for the violation, he discovered Falcon had several plastic bags containing numerous bottles of shampoo, body spray and unopened packages of batteries and razors. The deputy suspected the items were stolen, even though Falcon provided a different story.

The deputy contacted several businesses in the area and determined the items belonged to Walgreen’s, located at 27951 Baseline Street.

The store employees remembered Falcon being in the store earlier that day but were unaware he had stolen property.  Video surveillance was reviewed and confirmed the crime.

Over $300.00 in property was returned to Walgreens.

Falcon, 41, of Redlands was arrested for commercial burglary and two outstanding narcotic arrest warrants.
