The Perris Police Department Traffic Unit conducted a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on April 21st on Perris Boulevard and Commerce Drive in Perris.
This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in the city of Perris as the Perris Police Department’s commitment to public safety. The goal of the DUI Checkpoint was removing impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
The checkpoint results are as follows:
- 830 Vehicles Screened
- 4 DUI Suspects Arrested
- 37 Citations issued
- 6 Vehicles Impounded for 30 days
- 22 Unlicensed and Suspended Drivers Sent to Court
- 5 Arrested on misdemeanor warrants
- 5 citations issued for child safety seats.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
