Armed bank robbery in Murrieta Hot Springs; two suspects at large

Announcement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

Ahortly after 9:00 a.m. on April 6th, deputies from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department responded to a reported armed robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 38995 Sky Canyon Drive in Murrieta Hot Springs.

The investigation revealed two suspects entered the bank, brandished hand guns and demanded money from a teller.

After collecting an undisclosed amount of money, the suspects left the location on foot north bound from the bank.  No suspect vehicle was seen by witnesses.

Deputies were quickly on scene and it is believed the suspects ran to a waiting vehicle. The suspects are described as:

  • Suspect #1: Black or Hispanic male adult, mid-20’s, 5′10 height, about 180 pounds, last seen wearing a black ski mask, long-sleeved black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.  This suspect was believed to be armed with a chrome revolver handgun.
  • Suspect #2: Black or Hispanic male adult, mid 20’s, 5′10 height, about 180 pounds, last seen wearing a black ski mask, long-sleeved gray sweatshirt and jeans.   This suspect was believed to be armed with an unknown-type black semi-automatic handgun.
