Two daytime home burglaries in Loma Linda neighborhood, no arrests

News headline from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department:

At around 9:00 a.m. on April 20th, residents living in the 26000 block of Gwent Street in Loma Linda called the Sheriff’s Department to report a home burglary that had occurred sometime in the last two hours.

Deputies from San Bernardino, Grand Terrace, Loma Linda and the Sheriff’s Aviation Division arrived on scene to attempt to locate the suspect.  

After an extensive investigation, it was determined the suspect(s) had arrived at the residence on a bicycle and entered the locked residence through a bedroom window.  Once inside, several items were stolen with an approximate value of $10,000.  The suspect(s) fled the scene before the home owners arrived.

While Deputies were conducting this investigation, an unknown suspect(s) entered an unsecured garage in the 26000 block of Lawton Avenue, near the Gwent Street location, and stole a gray mountain bike.  The suspect(s) fled the scene before the home owners arrived.

Investigators believe this bicycle burglary is related to the burglary on Gwent Street.
