Man arrested after being caught siphoning gas from truck in commercial area of Lake Elsinore

News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

Shortly after midnight on Monday, March 26, officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department were conducting an area check of a commercial building on Pasadena Avenue, west of Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore, when they discovered a man who was siphoning diesel fuel from a truck parked in the 18400 block of Pasadena Avenue.

Officers detained Scott Lee Harrison, 54, of Corona, for theft.

After a search of court records, police learned that Harrison was on probation for theft with prior convictions.

Harrison was then arrested for theft with priors and violation of probation.  He was booked at the Southwest Detention Center.

It was estimated that Harrison had siphoned approximately fifty gallons of diesel fuel by the time officers caught him.
