Just in time for baseball’s opening day, it’s been widely reported tonight that a group of investors led by the former, and much beloved, Lakers basketball star Magic Johnson will be the new owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The final price is rumored to be two billion dollars.  Yes, that’s ‘billion’ with a ‘b’.

The deal is subject to approval by the bankruptcy court.  The sale is set to be finalized by April 30.

With the Frank and Jamie McCourt divorce and bankruptcy drama finally out of the way, maybe the team can finally get down to playing baseball.
