After a frantic, yet arduous, selection process, Peyton Manning has officially announced his decision to join the Denver Broncos with a five-year contract worth a reported $96 million.
The final three contenders were the San Francisco Forty-niners, Tennessee Titans, and the Denver Broncos.
The 35-year-old star quarterback, an unprecedented four-time NFL MVP, was let go after fourteen years with the Indianapolis Colts.
Manning missed all of the 2011 season due to a series of neck surgeries. As long as his recovery continues, he will be a starter for the Broncos.
With this decision, it is likely that Broncos’ quarterback Tim Tebow, who has three years left on his contract, will be traded.
