Riverside enforces ‘recycle scavengers’

On February 2, members of Riverside’s North Neighborhood Policing Center announced a crackdown on recycle scavengers — those individuals who patrol neighborhoods and remove items from curbside trash cans.

It has been noted that these individuals are a nuisance, affecting the quality of life all across the city.  Not only are there pedestrian violators, but also individuals who operate from a vehicle.

The Riverside Police Department is committed to addressing quality of life issues throughout the city.

This effort will be ongoing and residents are urged to report any violators by contacting RPD at 951-787-7911.
