KFI hosts John and Ken suspended over Whitney Houston comments

whouston21112.jpgRadio hosts John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou, of KFI-AM, have been given some unexpected time off after comments related to the death of Whitney Houston.

During banter about Houston’s death they asked collectively “It’s like, ‘Ah Jesus . . . here comes the crack ho again, what’s she gonna do,” based on a recording of the show from a media-monitoring service.

Together they also discussed Houston’s (pictured above) drug problems and questioned her ability to have lived to age 48.

KFI-AM issued the following statement:

Effective immediately, KFI AM 640 hosts John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou have been suspended for making insensitive and inappropriate comments about the late Whitney Houston.

KFI AM 640 Management does not condone, support or tolerate statements of this kind.

John Kobylt said, “We made a mistake, and we accept the station’s decision. We used language that was inappropriate, and we sincerely apologize to our listeners and to the family of Ms. Houston.”

John and Ken will return to the air Monday, February 27.
