On February 7 at around 8:00 p.m., officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to a report of a traffic collision at the intersection of Canyon Hills Road and Whispering Willow Lane in the city of Lake Elsinore.

It was reported that a silver Nissan sedan traveling southbound on Canyon Hills Road and a blue Honda sedan traveling eastbound on Whispering Willow Lane collided at the intersection.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and found both drivers still inside their vehicles.  There were no passengers.

Both drivers were transported by ambulance to Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries.

Southbound Canyon Hills Road traffic was diverted around the scene for approximately one hour.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
