Alessandro in Moreno Valley closed for 4 hours after collision

News headline from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department:

Alessandro Boulevard in Moreno Valley was closed for several hours late Tuesday night after a car hit the center divider and flipped over, pinning the driver inside.

At around 10:30 p.m. on February 28, Moreno Valley Police officers responded to a report of a traffic collision west of the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Heacock Street in Moreno Valley.

Officers determined that a green Acura TL was traveling eastbound on Alessandro towards Heacock.  The car struck the center divider on Alessandro and rolled onto its roof trapping the 27-year-old driver inside.

California Department of Fire extricated the driver from the vehicle and he was transported to the Riverside County Regional Medical Center for head trauma.

Alessandro Boulevard was closed between Graham Street and Heacock Street for about four hours while the scene was being processed.

The driver’s name was not released, and no further details were provided.

This investigation is continuing and the department is asking anyone with information regarding this incident or anyone that may have witnessed the collision to contact the Moreno Valley Police Department Traffic Division at 951-486-6900.
