University of California Regents are holding two days of regularly-scheduled meetings January 18-19 at UC Riverside. Overnight Tuesday more than 20 camping tents were set up around the bell tower; believed to be a small group of people who are protesting decisions to increase tuition within the California’s UC system.
The meetings are scheduled to be in the Highlander Union Building, near the bell tower.
Wednesday’s schedule starts at 8:30 a.m., with Regents Chair Sherry Lansing and UC President Mark G. Yudof, followed by public comments.
Thursday sessions are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.. The regents will discuss the UC technology licensing program, private giving, advocacy and Gov. Brown’s proposed state budget, according to a statement released by UC Riverside.
