‘Lunar Fest 2012′ this weekend in downtown Riverside

2012-01-27-lunar-dinner0871-150×150.jpgRiverside Lunar Fest 2012 will be held on Saturday, January 28 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. in downtown Riverside.

Introducing the sights, sounds, and flavors of the Far East, the event will celebrate the diverse cultures of the Asian-Pacific Americans of the region and create enduring community partnerships.

Lunar Fest leads off with a parade at 10:00 a.m. beginning at City Hall going north along the Main Street pedestrian mall to Mission Inn Avenue.

The parade will be followed by exhibitions of the variety of the different martial arts, acrobatics, story telling, traditional tea ceremonies, a fashion show, and music & dance performances, including a Polynesian fire dance.

Lunar Fest will close with a fireworks show from the rooftop of the downtown Main Library at Mission Inn Avenue and Orange Street.

The event takes place along Mission Inn Avenue between Lime Street and Orange Street.
