‘Friends of the Library’ to have silent auction fundraiser

2012-01-26-friends-logo-1-2012-trans_original_crop.pngThe downtown Riverside branch Friends of the Library will be holding a silent auction of some of the more unusual books, catalogs, magazines that that are among the many generous donations they receive.

The silent auction is a new venture to supplement other fund raising endeavors and will not affect general or internet sales.

For the silent auction, each book will have its own sheet on a clipboard and the sheet will list the book’s starting bid amount.

If there is a book a bidder would like to own, he or she will put their name and phone number or email address and bid amount on the sheet that accompanies the book.

The winning bidder need not be present to win.

The winner will be contacted by a Friends of the Library volunteer to make arrangements to pay for the book and to pick it up.

Silent auction books (and their accompanying clipboards) will be displayed on the low glass case near the elevator for one week beginning Monday, January 30.

The downtown library is located at 3581 Mission Inn Avenue in Riverside.
