Perris Police to be on heavy patrol this weekend for drunk drivers

News bulletin from the Perris Police Department:

The Perris Police Department will be conducting another “Zero Tolerance” DUI Saturation Patrol starting on Friday, January 27, targeting those who still don’t heed the message to designate a sober driver before their celebrations begin.

As part of the department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign, officers from the Perris Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team will be on heavy patrol during the weekend of January 27 through January 29 to stop and arrest impaired drivers.

“For those who don’t care about their own safety or the safety of others, BEWARE – we’re looking for you,” said Sergeant Dan Lingo, Perris PD.  “If we catch you behind the wheel of your car, truck or ride your motorcycle buzzed, you will go to jail this weekend.”

Funding for this program is through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
