Opportunity With Education (O.W.E.), formerly Project PRIDE, is currently accepting applications for their upcoming 16-week program for at-risk youth.

The program is a voluntary, non-custody, intensive program that stresses choices and consequences, aids in building self-esteem, and aims to break the cycle of negative behavior.

Opportunity With Education is designed to positively redirect children between the ages of 10 and 17, both male and female, through interaction with law enforcement and other positive professionals.

O.W.E. is a behavioral intervention and prevention program facilitated by the Riverside Police Department in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies and community-based organizations.

The program takes a holistic approach with the child and his or her family.

Enrollment requires the parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) to fully support the program and the staff.

Classes start in February and will be held at Riverside Community College on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Class size is limited and applications must be submitted online at www.rpdonline.org no later than Friday, January 27, 2012.
