On December 31 shortly before midnight, Riverside Police received several 911 calls of a shooting that occurred at a New Year’s Eve party in the 10600 block of Burton Street in the La Sierra area of Riverside.
A few minutes later, additional 911 calls were received of a body being dropped off near the intersection of Doane and Hole Avenues, also in La Sierra.
Officers located the victim, Vincent Delgado, 19, with a single gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to Riverside Community Hospital and placed on life support, where he ultimately succumbed to his wounds on January 2.
Detectives quickly identified Ernie Moreno, 24, of Riverside, as a suspect in this crime and he was arrested for accessory to attempted murder and attempted murder that night. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
Mr. Moreno’s charges have been changed to murder and he is currently being held on $1,000,000.00 bail.
Through further investigation, detectives were able to identify the second suspect and presumed shooter involved in this crime.
Michael Paul Rosas (pictured right), 30, of Riverside, is wanted for his involvement in this murder.
Rosas is considered armed and dangerous.
The Riverside Police Department is asking the public to assist them in locating Michael Paul Rosas. If you know his whereabouts you are asked to immediately notify law enforcement.
