merle-lint.jpgMerle E. Lint, born July 19, 1913 in Johnstown, PA to Lee and Mary Lint and passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012 in Hemet, CA.

In 1929, at age 16, Merle and his parents moved from PA to CA. Their first overnight stop along the way was in Poland, OH where they stayed at the home of Lee’s sister, Ellen Boyer.

There Merle met Ellen’s young step-daughter, Madge, who many years later became his wife.
Merle’s first job in CA was at the Studebaker plant. He held several other jobs including a few months as a fireman on a steam engine for Southern Pacific Railroads, a job he enjoyed very much. He retired in 1978 from a job as maintenance mechanic.

Merle was the father of one daughter, Luzanne Grainger; grandfather of four, Scott Smith, Kelley Laxamana, Lori Salgado and Lisa Altman. He was blessed with 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 1:00pm at Vogue Mobile Manner Club House, 43531 Acacia Ave., Hemet, CA.
