On January 24 shortly after 10:00 p.m., officers from the Menifee Police Department responded to a residence in the 25700 block of Bundy Canyon Road in Menifee in response to a reported shooting.
Adam Starkey, 31, of Menifee (pictured right), had called stating he had just shot his 38-year-old girlfriend.
Officers arrived and detained Starkey in the front yard of his residence while other officers entered the home and found the girlfriend with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Menifee Police Department and Investigators from the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
Adam Starkey was arrested for homicide and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
