Dr. Lenoa Kent Jones was born August 15, 1924, near Abilene, Texas. She passed away December 26, 2011 in Redlands, California.

She had been a resident of Fontana, CA for 24 years. Lenoa was a nurse educator and developed/implemented the innovative Second Step BSN program for RNs to obtain their degree.

She retired as a Professor Emeritus from Pacific Union College, Angwin, CA. She was an active member of Sigma Theta Tau, Women’s Christian Temperance Union and the American Red Cross.

She is survived by her husband Robert M. Jones, her son and his wife R. Kent and Micki Jones, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews as well as a large extended family.

Interment was at the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA on Jan. 10, 2012. A memorial service will be held at the Redlands Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Redlands, CA on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 3pm.
