For the past two months, the deputy assigned to patrol the parks in the city of Eastvale conducted an investigation regarding several vandalism incidents.
The vandalism occurred at numerous locations in the city of Eastvale including several parks throughout the city. There were eighty documented incidents of tagging over the past several months, which caused an estimated $11,000.00 worth of damage to city property.
After conducting several interviews and obtaining investigative leads, the deputy was able to identify the suspect who was responsible for the graffiti.
On January 11, the deputy received information from a Jurupa Community Service District employee that the suspect who was responsible for the graffiti was currently at the Harada Heritage Park.
The deputy responded to the location and located a 17-year-old juvenile.
The juvenile was detained and after conducting a probation check at the juvenile’s home, the deputy recovered several pieces of evidence related to graffiti.
The juvenile was arrested for felony vandalism and later released into the custody of his parents.
The Eastvale Police Department would like to remind the public if they see any type of suspicious activity in or around the parks to call 951-776-1099 or dial 9-1-1 for an emergency.
