Former treasurer of ‘Empty Cradle’ charity arrested for embezzlement

2012-01-24-sws12-0119-1-lowerelizabeth.jpgSince November, 2011, investigators from the city of Temecula Police Department have been investigating an embezzlement case where the Empty Cradle non-profit organization reportedly suffered a loss of approximately $25,000.

The investigation focused on Elizabeth Lower, the former volunteer treasurer for the organization.

The Empty Cradle is a charitable organization that provides support to families who have experienced the loss of a baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death, or S.I.D.S.

On January 19, investigators from Temecula Police served a search warrant in the 600 Block of Lincoln Avenue in El Cajon regarding this investigation.

They arrested Lower for embezzlement and collected evidence regarding this incident.

Lower was subsequently questioned and booked into the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta for Embezzlement.
