Etta James, of Riverside, was buried this weekend. Services were held in Gardena at the City of Refuge church.
James lived in Riverside where she also had a recording studio inside her home. Her death, on January 20, followed a long battle with leukemia and other health complications. James was 73.
Tributes to her life included a performance by Christina Aguilera and Stevie Wonder.
While Etta James was often treated at Riverside Community Hospital, she died at Parkview Community Hospital. She would have turned 74 on January 25, 2012.
