Emily R. Mejia, 17, passed away on Dec. 29, 2011 in Cherry Valley, CA. She was born on May 4, 1994 in Palm Springs, CA.

She had resided in Cherry Valley, CA for nine years and is a previous Blythe resident.

Emily is survived by her parents, Miguel and Suzanne Mejia of Cherry Valley; siblings, Michael Mejia, Jennifer Mejia, and Lana Mejia, all of Cherry Valley; grandmother, Helen Januscheski of Blythe; and grandparents, Enio and Emiliana Mejia of Parker, AZ.

She is also survived by six uncles, five aunts, many cousins and her protector, Coco, her Chihuahua.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bob Januscheski and her great-niece, Christina Mejia.

A memorial service for Emily will be held on Jan. 7, 2012 at Weaver Mortuary Chapel, 1177 Beaumont Ave., Beaumont, CA 92223. The family will have a private interment. Arrangements handled by Weaver Mortuary, Beaumont, CA, 951-845-1141.
