Dog quarantined after attacking woman and child in Moreno Valley

On January 24 at about 11:40 a.m., officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to a reported dog attack in the area of Meyer Street and Indian Avenue in Moreno Valley.

Officers arrived within minutes and helped the victims of the attack.

According to the reports, a woman was walking with her two young children when a Bull Mastiff escaped from a fenced yard nearby and attacked the woman’s 6-year-old child.

As the woman tried to intervene to protect the child, the dog then turned and attacked her as well.

The infant in a stroller was not harmed in the incident.

Both the woman and the 6-year-old were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Moreno Valley Animal Control officers responded and took the dog, placing it in quarantine.
