On January 13 at about 10:30 p.m. , members of the Blythe Narcotic Enforcement Team (BNET) conducted an investigative traffic stop on Interstate 10 near Defrain Boulevard in Blythe.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of $49,700.00 in cash. Other items indicative of drug-trafficking were also seized as evidence.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Henry Montes Robledo, 21, of Pomona.
The passenger was identified as Jorge Luis Ruiz Jr., 22, of Shelbyville, Indiana.
Montes and Ruiz were arrested for transporting drug proceed monies and booked into the Riverside County Jail in Blythe.
BNET is a multi-agency narcotic task force participated in by law enforcement agencies in the Blythe-Palo Verde Valley area. Their primary mission is to disrupt narcotic sales and diminish the availability of those drugs, thereby increasing public safety.
