Starting July 1, hybrid owners with those highly sought yellow stickers will lose carpool-lane privileges when only one person is in the car; instead, all-electric, compressed natural gas and Prius plugin drivers will get the diamond-lane perk. But hybrids are still popular in the Inland Empire, where the gas-sippers helped give Toyota of Riverside some of the nation’s top sales in April.
