Two skydivers die at Perris Valley Airport

News headline from the Riverside Sheriff’s Department:

On Thursday, March 3, about 4:00 p.m., deputies from the Perris Police Department responded to the Perris Valley Airport regarding a reported fatality involving two skydivers.  Initial reports indicate the skydivers’ parachutes/canopies had collided and became entangled.

Officers responded and discovered both skydivers were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

The exact cause of the accident is unknown, pending further investigation.

The incident is being investigated by the Perris Police Department, Riverside County Coroner, NTSB and the FAA.

Christopher David Stasky, 42, of San Diego is confirmed dead, according to the Riverside County Coroner.   The other skydiver has been identified as Patrick James MC Gowan II, 42, of Menifee.
