Donald Gene Bradley passed peacefully at home on Sunday, December 26, 2010 with his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Bonnie, by his side. Don was a very devoted and caring family man that always put his family and friends ahead of himself. He was gentle, kind, sincere, and giving, the very rare type of man that most people never have the privilege of knowing in their lifetime and those that did know him all agree he was all of this and much more.
Don was a friend to everyone he met and brought joy to everyone’s heart with his sense of humor and contagious smile. He was born on April 15, 1933, in Herrin, Ill. and was a former resident of Highland for 55 years, then of Yucaipa for the last 10 years. Don was a Veteran of the United States Navy and achieved the rank of Third Class Petty Officer. He served on the USS Ptarmigan (alongside his brother Bob) during the Korean War from 1951-1955.
Don owned and operated ABC Business Machines in San Bernardino for over 25 years. He and his wife, Bonnie, worked side by side as a team throughout the entire 25 years they were in business. Don and Bonnie were married on February 4, 1960 in Las Vegas, NV.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife Bonnie, his son Don Bradley (wife Michelle), his daughters Pam Jacobs (husband Wayne), Diann Mckague (husband Scott), all of Yucaipa, his brother Bob Bradley (wife Patty) of Highland, his sister Ada Fleehardy (husband Jack) of Olney, Ill, 3 grandchildren Christy Vidaurri (husband Tommy) of Highland, Kerry Barnes (wife Carlen) of Yucca Valley, and Sara Barnes of Yucaipa and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Louise Asbridge of Highland, and his sister Shirley Morris of Valley Center, CA.
His family would also like to say a very heartfelt “Thank You” to Roxanne Hernandez, his devoted caregiver and friend and also to his “sister-in-law” Lorene Herring, niece Doris Barnes and nephew Steven Sanders for all their care and help in the last few years.
Viewing will be on Sunday, January 2, 2010 from 4-7pm. Funeral Service will be on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. The viewing and services will be held at Montecito Mortuary Valley View chapel, 3520 E. Washington St., Colton, CA.
