Meg Whitman’s housekeeper story challenged by handwritten note

A second day story about Meg Whitman’s former housekeeper stirred the political fire. After denying that she or her husband ever received a letter raising questions about their housekeeper and her social security number, a copy of the letter surfaced. It includes what is apparently a handwritten note by Whitman’s husband.

You can debate the she said/she said nature of the Meg Whitman/housekeeper story, but there is one overriding fact in this controversy: it is the last thing that the Republican gubernatorial candidate needs right now. That’s because the election may well come down to the state’s Latino voters – the fast-growing voter group in California.
