California Riverside Ballet to hold open auditions for “The Nutcracker”

The California Riverside Ballet is holding open auditions at the Fox Performing Arts Center Sept. 12 for its 41st annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker.”

Auditions will be from 1 to 3 p.m. for 15-year-olds and older; 3 to 4:30 p.m. for 12- to 14-year-olds; and 4:30 p.m. for 8- to 11-year-olds. No one under 8 will be allowed to audition.

The ballet asks that performers come dressed in ballet attire, including pointe shoes.

The Nutcracker performances are at the Fox Performing Arts Center, December 9 - 12.

“I’m pleased to see this classic moving into the Fox Performing Arts Center,” said Ward 1 Councilmember Mike Gardner. “It’s wonderful news for our talented local dancers.”

Guest artistic director, Mario Nugara, will conduct the auditions.
