In October 1980, Albert Greenwood Brown abducted 15-year-old Susan Jordan as she walked to Arlington High School in Riverside. Brown raped and murdered Susan then dumped her body in a nearby orange grove.

After the murder, Brown called Susan’s parents and told them they would never see their daughter alive again, and that they could find her in that orange grove.

In 1982, Brown was convicted in Riverside County of Susan’s rape and murder and sentenced to death. All of his state and federal appeals have now been exhausted.

Last month, a Riverside County Superior Court judge ordered Brown to be executed on September 29, 2010.

“This is a murderer who never claimed innocence and who has now exhausted all his appellate rights in an extremely horrific case. There is no reason for his execution to be further delayed,” said Riverside County District Attorney Rod Pacheco, in a press release.

Brown will be executed at San Quentin State Prison.
